Youth and Junior Triathlon

Hawaii Triathlon Center Youth & Junior Triathlon:

 

Kailua Beach Park near the boat ramp

Saturday, April 15, 2017, first wave starts at 6:45am!

Registration fee $35 before 4/14,  $45 race morning.

*All participants are require to be members of USAT, $10 annual membership can be purchased online through registration, or directly through USAT https://membership.usatriathlon.org/public/register

This race is open to kids ages 7-17, and takes place at Kailua Beach Park. The pre-race briefing will be at 6:15am with the first wave starting at approximately 6:45am. Race day check in starts the morning of the race at 5:30am.

Competitors will need to bring their own swim goggles, bicycle, helmet, and running shoes. After race morning check in, athletes will proceed to body marking then pass through a complimentary bicycle safety check prior to racking their bicycles in transition. Transition racking will be first come, first serve. If you feel like your bicycle is less than operational please have it serviced by your local shop prior to race day. Hawaii Triathlon Center offers bike service as well.

 

The goal of the youth triathlon series is to promote a fun and safe environment for young athletes to become exposed to the sport. Our goal is to include everyone and to provide an opportunity for both very beginners and aspiring Olympians to get started. We are wide open to suggestions and encourage community involvement.

 

***All athletes are required to have a helmet, closed toe shoes, and attend the pre-race safety briefing***

Start time for the first heat will be staggered by age group starting with 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18. Top three boys and girls in each heat will be awarded.
